Are you looking at all these adorable faces and wishing you could take them all home? Have you ever considered fostering?!
Fostering is a great way to help us and the dogs out, and it can be as short or long term as you'd like! We work with you to make sure you get a dog you will enjoy, and we also strive to make sure it's as easy of a process as we can make it.
Taking home a new dog is never flawless... they will have accidents, they will bark in the crate, they are stressed and high energy the first few days making you question why you chose to do this. Hang in there with them, and it pays off. Usually within 3 days they settle in. We work to find a dog that is a good fit for what traits you are seeking in a foster dog.
Fostering requires you to commit to training, exercising, and care for the dog. It can be anywhere from 1 week-several months, depending on the dog. The average period of time is 2-3 weeks. We provide the food and crate, and vet visits when pre-approved by us beforehand. We do not cover vet bills we did not approve ahead of time.
If the dog is not working out, we require a 5 day minimum notice to find a new place. The more time the better, please. We do have back up fosters for things like emergencies, planned trips, etc. It's a great thing to do for a dog. It quite honestly means the difference between life and death.

Name: Ari Have you ever met a Miniature Bounce Retriever? We bet not because we made it up but we’re convinced that is what Ari is. She is tiny at about 15 lbs but she’s a big dog in a little dog body. She loves to toss toys around, loves to play fetch even though she can barely fit the ball in her mouth, and is absolutely joyous for walks. Ari is great with other dogs, good with cats, and loves all people including kids. She is in a shelter setting so housetraining is unknown but she keeps her kennel clean and she is great in the crate. If you are looking for a pocket sized active pooch, Ari is absolutely the one for you. Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $550 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives. Name: Calista Sweet Calista is sugar, no spice, and only everything nice! Calista loves other dogs and loves all people. She is super athletic and the typical high energy bully breed. She would love a home that wants an adventure dog to go for hikes/runs/walks, lots of playtime, or even sports (she would excel at agility or flyball). Calista is so much fun and has so much love to give. She absolutely melts into you for snuggles and would sit with you for hours if you just keep scritching her ears. Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives. Name: Poggle Big head, stocky legs, minimal thoughts, lots of love—that’s our Poggle! He is a sweet, handsome guy with so much love to give to whoever adopts him. He fancies himself a lap dog and we don’t have the heart to tell him he isn’t. He is fabulous with all people, good with other dogs, and ignores the cats. Poggle is housetrained and crates well though much prefers to be left loose in the house and he has so far been good with that at his foster home. Poggle loves his walks and tossing around toys but is equally content to take a nice snooze. His leash manners leave a lot to be desired but hey, no one is perfect. He is learning that pulling ahead like a freight train gets him nowhere and if he doesn’t he gets some love and a little treat which are 2 things he loves more than anything! While he leads with his heart, there’s a brain in that head and a strong desire to please (and get treats). Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $600 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives. Name: Tammie Jo Tammie Jo may be a Minnesota local but she has the charm of a southern belle. We can just hear her say “oh bless your heart” in a southern drawl. She is a leggy beauty who smiles when she is excited. Yes, smiles. She’ll pull her lips back and give the most adorable smile when she is all wiggly and happy. Tammie Jo is in a shelter setting so housetraining is not known but she hates to potty in her kennel run so we assume she is housetrained. She is great with dogs, not likely good with cats based on her initial reaction to trying to chase, and loves all people. She knows some basics and has clearly been someone’s loved pooch before. She wants nothing more than to settle back into a home and be loved forever. He needs a foster or foster-to-adopt home to commit to him before his time runs out. He will need to be brought to our vet in Eden Prairie for a neuter once in foster or foster-to-adopt (cost covered by the rescue) Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.
