Description: Ballet is a gorgeous Border Collie puppy who was brought into the shelter after she was found wandering after puppy curfew. No one came for her so she is now looking for a home who will love her, train her, and put that smartypants border collie brain to work. Ballet is smart as a whip and learns so fast. She absolutely thrives on being given something to do to. Puzzle toys, flirt pole, training—yes please! Ballet is typical puppy so housetraining is a work in progress but she keeps her crate clean for the workday and overnight. She is fantastic with other dogs but will herd them playfully which doesn’t always go over well with some dogs especially the little ones. She has not been around cats but would need a proper introduction to them and reminders that they aren’t for play. Ballet is of the mindset that everything is for play! Due to her breed she would be best with older kids or a herding breed experienced home who understands the tendencies to heel nip and chase kiddos to tell them where to go. Description: Cinna is a medium sized adult mixed up mutt found tied up alone with a tag that identified her however the shelter was unable to make contact with any potential owner. How she ended up there and then not reclaimed at the shelter we don’t know but what we do know is that she was sure loved and cared for prior (note: we will not allow any negativity towards her previous owners. We do not know their circumstances or how she ended up where she was). Cinna is very playful and good with other dogs and loves people. She is a bit of a velcro dog and wants to be where her people are. She’ll contentedly lay at your feet while you work, hang out in the yard while you do yard work, and politely follow you around the house. Cinna loves to go for walks and is learning to walk nicely on the leash. She is housetrained, does not enjoy being crated and would prefer the freedom to roam around the home. She is about 45 lbs, 1-2 years old.

Description: Cora is a sweet pittie girl who found herself all alone in this cold weather. She is the typical young pittie who needs lots of exercise to be happy. Luckily she absolutely loves to play and gets along famously with our other foster, Batman. She is quite the puller on leash, but is learning that not pulling makes for a better walk. She sticks around off leash and absolutely loves romping around in our fenced yard. She is a bit bull headed (show me a pittie who isn't!), but is learning "leave it" and is very treat motivated. She crates well and is doing excellent on house training (a few accidents post shelter are expected). However, while she is not aggressive, she also will not back down when challenged so needs either slow introductions or a non alpha dog in the family. Dog-savvy cats are also preferred as she does show interest in them, but really wants to play. Cats are surprisingly resistant to playing with a big slobbery dog, however. If you have a friendly dog who loves wrestling, then Cora will fit right in! She would also love a situation where she was the only dog and received all the love and attention. Dishes is a super outgoing, silly, mischief making pup. She is excellent with other dogs, loves humans though is a bit much for the little kids at her age with her lack of training, and needs a home without cats because of her overzealous interest in them. Once she gets to know you, she gives you her heart and soul. Her foster mom's shadow, Laina follows her everywhere! (Good luck trying to pee in peace again.) We're pretty sure her motto in life is "Every minute I'm not being pet is 60 seconds of waste!". She's a champion snuggler and the second your butt hits the couch she is there to help share the cushion, the blanket, and your popcorn! She loves the other dogs in her foster home and doesn't even mind the cats. She crates well for the work day. She sounds perfect you might say, so what's the catch? Laina is slow to accept meeting new people and needs a home with the experience to handle a girl with trust issues. Description: Oso is a big German Shepherd surrendered due to continued issues between him and the other dog in the home. Oso took the brunt of the fighting it seemed but that hasn’t left him with any ill will towards other dogs. In fact, he loves other dogs and loves to play with them! He is an absolute lovebug, loves his people and will follow his owners to the ends of the earth if they asked him to. He is not good with cats. Oso does need a diet. He came in 110 lbs and a good 30 lbs overweight. He’s well on his way to losing weight and becoming a healthy pooch but he needs a home committed to keeping him on his diet and keeping him active. Description: Rudolph (Rudy) the red haired puppy may not be leading any sleighs but he will for sure be leading his way right into your heart. He was reported to be found tied up to a street pole and no one claimed him or knew how he got there. Rudy was nervous at first to be on a leash with new people but once he realized the leash wasn’t stopping him from going and cuddling up with someone he beelined for the nearest lap for snuggles. Rudy loves other dogs and is thrilled to play with them. He met a cat in passing and didn’t show any interest in them but has not to our knowledge lived with them. Rudy is a young guy, about 10 months old. He is housetrained on a schedule but relies on being let outside rather than waiting for him to ask. He crates well for the workday and right now overnight as well. He is an awesome adolescent pooch and going to make some home so happy they chose him!

Description: Rusty is a middle-aged Lab/Pit Bull mix who does not understand how he landed himself in the shelter. Quite frankly, we don’t either. This guy is wonderful! At about 7 years old he is well past the crazy puppy stages and settled into being a well-mannered, housetrained, cratetrained but doesn’t need it and prefers to be loose in the house, easy to live with type guy. He absolutely loves to go for walks and when you pull his leash out he turns right back into a puppy with excitement. He walks well on the leash after an initial bout of excitement pulling and knows basic commands. Rusty has lived with dogs and cats and does well with all. He is loving and friendly to all people. We can’t say enough good things about Rusty. He isn’t flashy in looks, he isn’t a cute little puppy anymore, but he’s got years and years of experience being a good boy to share with a forever home.

Description: Scotch is uniquely handsome Lab mix with bright blue eyes. His eyes are captivating and draw people in but his fabulous personality is what keeps people sticking around to be his best friend! He is absolutely in love with all people, thinks other dogs are immediate best friends, and is the greeter of the dog park. Scotch is a young guy at about a year so his obedience is a work in progress and his leash manners do leave a bit to be desired if we are being honest but he is super food motivated and responsive to training. He is housetrained, crates nicely for the workday, and as long as he’s had some energy burnt out of him and there’s appropriate chews around he minds his manners in the house. If he can’t find anything else or he’s feeling a bit cooped up, sometimes a shoe will make it’s way from by the door to somewhere else but Scotch has it on good authority that shoes are known to walk themselves places at times and he definitely didn’t have anything to do with it. He is about a year old, 50 lbs.

Description: Smeargle is a 7 month old lanky Lab mix with giant ears that look like he could fly. He can’t fly but his ears are excellent for petting and whispering secrets into. Like a good best friend he won’t tell those secrets either. Smeargle can confirm he is an excellent secret keeper. In fact he is such a good secret keeper he isn’t telling who stole the loaf of bread off the counter, him or his foster brother though we suspect this might be less about secret keeping and more about pleading the fifth. Smeargle is a loveable goofball. He loves to play with toys, loves to play with other dogs, and is interested but respectful of the cats and when one smacked him he wanted nothing more to do with it. He is finishing up learning the housetraining and crates well for the workday. He loves walks and playtime and is looking for an active home that wants to include him in all sorts of fun times.

Description: Snowman is a young Maltese/Poodle mix named because he was found in the middle of the March snowstorm skinny, soaking wet, and looking about as pathetic and sad as it gets. He’d have every reason in the world to be crabby or snippy and yet, Snowman is the sweetest cuddler you can ever ask to meet. He melts into you for the slightest bit of love and affection. Forget personal space with this guy, he wants to crawl in your skin and be loved forever. Snowman is housetrained though in the cold, snowy days needs a bit of a push to go out and prefers you go with him and he crates very well. He is a quieter boy but coming out of his shell with love and TLC. He is good with other dogs but the rowdy ones make him nervous a bit and he curls into a tiny ball. He doesn’t mind the kitties and has been sweet and friendly to the kids he’s met but again the rowdy ones tend to make him a bit nervous and he curls himself into a ball so he would prefer a quieter home like himself.

Sock Puppet is a smart, very responsive puppy to training but he is just a pup after all so his home should be prepared to teach him all the basics and how to be the best canine citizen he can be. Housetraining is going well and he crates very nicely. He would be the star of an obedience or training class with his smart mind and his engagement with people. He is looking for a home who wants to do all the fun puppy things as well as all the work. Puppies are hard work but so worth it!

If you like a dog with lots of personality, mischief, and sass then you will love Stuffy. If you want a quiet, mellow dog who always minds and never talks back then Stuffy is not for you. She is heavy on the husky in looks but in a smaller, petite package. Stuffy adores other dogs and loves to play with them. She is a bit pushy in play and overwhelming to calm dogs because she doesn’t take no for an answer—because who wouldn’t want to play with her? For a playful dog she is a best friend since she can go on and on running and wrestling. Stuffy adores people and is tolerant of everything. She frequently gets picked up to get put in her kennel and doesn’t even mind “air jail”. Will she tell you her opinions of being locked up…absolutely. Stuffy is not for apartments or shared walls unless your neighbors too would like to hear her opinions shouted. She is housetrained, crates for the workday, and does mind her manners in the house as best as her little mischievous self can—she doesn’t know how the trash can got tipped over or why the barbie doesn’t have feet anymore but definitely probably was not her ;). Description: Tic-Tac-Taco is a 3 month old chubby bully pup. He was found at an evicted property, presumably left behind, and was thrilled beyond belief to see the officers that came to get him. They were his new best friends. Everyone is in fact! Tic-Tac-Taco loves people, loves other dogs, tries to play with the cats and learned quickly that was a big no thank you on their part, and just loves life. He is working on his housetraining, crates well for the workday and overnight, and is learning all the important puppy things. He is expected to be a large dog as an adult. He is a typical puppy so a forever home should prepare for all the puppy fun, socialization, training, and everything takes to make a puppy into the best dog they can be. We highly recommend training classes to set everyone up for success.

It is fitting that he smiles all the time given that he is such a happy little dude. Timmy Toofers is excellent with dogs and loves to play with them. He thinks the cats are a bit scary in a way that makes him give them a wide berth. He is housetrained, crates well for the workday, and minds his manners well in the house. He does seem a bit like he’s been limited in his life experiences as toys absolutely baffle him and if you raise your voice or your hand too fast it sends him skittering, but he hands his heart over so completely after a few kind words. Timmy Toofers loves to be snuggled and loves to be held. He doesn’t even mind being carried around like a todder—in fact he loves it! Any love he gets he just soaks up. Timmy Toofers is an absolute delight and he is going to make whoever picks him laugh and smile every day. He is about 7 months old, 30 lbs and expected to remain on the smaller side around 40-45 lbs.

Description: Vega is a gorgeous Husky with all the husky traits we know and love—aloof, independent, silly, vocal, and a comedian. He is a typical my-way-or-the-highway husky and if you decide to do it differently, he will yell at you about it in the more hilarious way. Vega is great with other dogs and loves to play with them. He takes a bit to warm up to new people, never mean, but a bit wary. With people he knows though, he is a lovebug and will snuggle right up next to you. He is a bit flinchy with fast movements near his head or his collar being messed with but with the people he knows well that is already fading as he learns to trust. He appears to be housetrained but is in a shelter setting so might need a refresher when he gets into a home. He is getting very stressed in the shelter and has started to chew on his tail for comfort. He has been in the shelter for nearly 2 months and his time is running out. We cannot take him into rescue without a committed foster home or foster to adopt.
