Foster Homes Needed!

Are you looking at all these adorable faces and wishing you could take them all home? Have you ever considered fostering?!

Fostering is a great way to help us and the dogs out, and it can be as short or long term as you'd like! We work with you to make sure you get a dog you will enjoy, and we also strive to make sure it's as easy of a process as we can make it.

Taking home a new dog is never flawless... they will have accidents, they will bark in the crate, they are stressed and high energy the first few days making you question why you chose to do this. Hang in there with them, and it pays off. Usually within 3 days they settle in. We work to find a dog that is a good fit for what traits you are seeking in a foster dog.

Adoption events are optional, however, we do require fosters to attend the event when they need to get supplies and to let us know beforehand so we can bring them there to pick up. Fostering requires you to commit to training, exercising, and care for the dog. It can be anywhere from 1 week-several months, depending on the dog. The average period of time is 2-3 weeks. We provide the food and crate, and vet visits when pre-approved by us beforehand. We do not cover vet bills we did not approve ahead of time.

If the dog is not working out, we require a 3 day minimum notice to find a new place. The more time the better, please. We do have back up fosters for things like emergencies, planned trips, etc. It's a great thing to do for a dog. It quite honestly means the difference between life and death...

We highly recommend you read the following packet to help answer your questions about fostering: Fostering 101

Thank you for considering opening your home to a dog in need!

Name: Clark
Breed: Pit Bull/ Shepherd Cross
Age: Young Adult
Gender: Male
Description: Clark is a mixed up mutt whose silly grin, melting eyes, and goofball personality have completely charmed all of us. He loves to play, loves toys, and dances with complete glee for walks. He has springs in his legs and can jump about 3 feet in the air in front of you when he is excited...his name should have been Tigger! He is excellent with other dogs and likes to play, fine with cats though will give chase, and friendly meeting people. He is best with older kids/adults since he isn't used to the little ones but has been social and friendly out and about. He is housetrained and crates well in a sturdy crate for the workday though is not fan of the crate. Clark has been bounced around a lot in his short life and it shows in how hard he takes a change in homes. He is never mean, never nippy, just nervous at first and needs someone who understands that he sees a new home as his old one abandoning him. He is so loyal and bonds so hard to his people that losing them is hard for him. He will take some time to come out of his shell and bond to someone new, but he will and when he does prepare for a best friend like you have never had before! He needs a home who will commit to knowing that the first weeks with him will be hard and who will hang in there with him. Once he settles in and adjusts he is the absolute best companion you could ever ask for.

Requirements: Adopter must own home due to breed mix. Older child/adult home.

Name: Dezi
Breed: Lab Cross
Age: Adult
Gender: Female
Description: Dezi Mae is an adult female Lab mix, a gentle soul with a patient personality and so much sweetness she almost needs a candy type name. Good with kids and other dogs, Dezi was previously a stray and so badly wants a forever home that can commit. She is doing well with house training, crates for the workday, and loves walks and couch time. She has a very agreeable and easy going personality. Cats are unknown, we have not seen her with cats yet, but she seems so relaxed we expect she'd be ok.

Requirements: No special requirements

Name: Lilly
Breed: Lab Cross
Age: Young Adult
Gender: Female
Description: Lilly is an active, smart, outgoing adolescent Lab mix seeking a home as an only dog with an adopter wanting a very smart dog to exercise and train. She lacks social skills with other dogs, which sometimes results in her reacting to their excitement by engaging in a fight, which is why we want a single dog home for her. Out and about she enjoys greeting them and is happy to meet on walks, just is not a dog park dog, and ideally living alone. She does like to harass the cats also. She is excellent with people and enjoys being taught. Lilly is house trained and crate trained, knows some basic commands, and loves to play with her toys and go for walks outside, even in the cold. She'd be a fantastic agility or obedience dog.

Requirements: No cats. No dogs.

Name: Marley
Breed: Yellow Lab/ Boxer Cross
Age: Adult
Gender: Male
Description: Marley is a young adult male Lab/Boxer mix, surrendered by his owner who couldn't care for him any longer. He was spending 20+ hours a day in his crate, and a young Retriever needs a lot more exercise and people time than that. He is doing well with house training, loves walks and playtime, and enjoys nothing in life more than being with his person/people. He's medium energy. Marley is tolerant of other dogs but much prefers the company of people to dogs, so would do fine as an only dog, and does chase cats. He's reliable off leash once trained, and loves to play with tennis balls and toys. For a family who wants one dog, a homebody dog who loves them, he's perfect. After being crated so much we are looking for a home where he doesn't have to be crated excessively.

Requirements: No cats. Home with yard space

Name: Rose
Breed: Shepherd Cross
Age: Adult
Gender: Female
Description: Rose is a 3-4 year old Shepherd mix with goofy ears that can't quite decide what to do.  Sometimes they flop, sometimes they stick straight out to the sides, or they each do their own things!  She is a cute, medium sized (45-50 lb) pup who blends together the manners and training of an adult dog with a fun, playful puppy spirit.  She is housetrained, crates well for the workday without a fuss, and minds her manners in the house.  Rose absolutely lives for her daily walks and would love those to continue in her forever home.  She dances with complete joy when the leash comes out and is always up for an adventure.  Her leash manners are great and she knows a few basic commands.  She is equally always down for couch snuggles especially on these cold nights. Rose is great with other dogs and she loves to play and wrestle with them.  She has been with cats and while not outright aggressive to them she does love a good game of chase so is best in a home without.  Kids also top the list of Rose's favorite things.  Rose has some energy but tires nicely with walks and playtime in the yard.  She desperately wants to please her people and loves knowing what is expected from her so she can follow through and hear she is a good girl.  Rose is a loyal, loving, sweet dog who has been waiting to be chosen for far too long.  She can't wait to go to her forever home and spend the rest of her life being someone's best friend.

Requirements: No special requirements
