He walks well on the leash and his foster has been loving training him because of how smart and responsive he is. He is medium energy, loves to play and go for walks but will happily flop down and snooze at your feet too. He loves water and playing in the hose and kiddie pools!

Sweet Calista is a conehead right now due to coming into the shelter with a scratched cornea. Despite what must have been very irritating and painful We don’t know how she scratched her eye but with medications it is healing well and becoming less squinty every day. It is not expected that she will have any long term complications from it. Calista loves other dogs and loves all people. She is super athletic and the typical high energy bully breed. She would love a home that wants an adventure dog to go for hikes/runs/walks, lots of playtime, or even sports (she would excel at agility or flyball). Calista is so much fun and has so much love to give. She absolutely melts into you for snuggles and would sit with you for hours if you just keep scritching her ears. In fact when he was found roaming he jumped right up into someone's car and made himself cozy in their lap! Dodgeball was named because he has a big blocky head that is just full of air. We mean that with so much love! Dodgeball is a more heart than brains kinda boy. He leads every action with his entire heart and wears it right on his sleeve. He wants to love on everyone, sit in their laps, and show off whatever cool toy is closest to him that he can pick up. Sure that toy is sometimes a shoe but hey, close enough! Dodgeball loves other dogs and loves to play with them. He can be a bit rowdy in play and loves when someone can match that play style but respected very nicely when the bossy little dog told him in no uncertain terms to not ever consider playing with her again. Did he later on forget and try again? Yes. But he yet again respected her telling him off. He’ll probably try again too…like we said, more heart than brains! Dodgeball is in a shelter setting so we don’t know if he is housetrained but he does keep his kennel as clean as he is able and hasn’t been much of a barker. He loves his walks and loves to toss toys around and chase balls though bringing them back so far hasn’t happened. He’s a delightful young blockhead looking for a home who wants an absolute lovebug of a dog to share in their adventures. He is about 80 lbs, 1 year old.

When he has opinions he is happy to tell you them too. Emoji is independent, prefers to do his own thing while also checking in with his person every so often. He is more of a cat in a dog suit. A cat that loves to go for walks and potties outside though! Emoji seems to be housetrained but being in a shelter setting we aren’t absolutely for sure but he keeps his kennel clean. He likes to talk so a home without shared walls is definitely necessary. He would be best in a fenced yard since he is very experienced in slipping out of collars when he wants to leave a tie-out for an adventure around town. Emoji is very stressed in the shelter and needs a foster or foster to adopt ASAP. Emoji is about 60 lbs, 5 years old. Description: Fendi is a uniquely colored bi colored eye girl who isn't just a pretty face. Nope, this sweetheart also has a great personality and some training under her belt! She is housetrained (though with any dog expect accidents as she transitions), crates well, and minds her manners in the house. She adores people of all ages though the little ones might get bumped over from her playful nature. She has the energy you would expect from a husky and a pittie so needs daily outlets for her energy—walks/runs, playtime, training, etc. Fendi was well known in a local impound for her frequent visits. We aren't sure if she is an escape artist or if her frequent trips out of her house were due to n o fault of her own but just in case she will need a securely fenced yard or an owner committed to leashing her (not tie-out) when outside in an unfenced area. She is good with other large breed playful dogs but is a bit too pushy in play and too much for bossy dogs or for smaller dogs. She cannot go to a home with cats or small animals. Fendi is super smart and loves to learn things. She knows how to sit, shake, and lay down. Her leash manners could use a bit of work but even with just a few training sessions she is picking up loose leash walking like an absolute champ. If you are looking for a smart, active, social dog who is ready to go on any adventure with you, Fendi wants to be your pooch!

Description: Gibby was found emaciated in a tiny crate covered in his own waste by a maintenance worker who went into an apartment to check on a repair. He came to a local shelter in terrible shape, covered in urine burns, and weighing 45 lbs-nearly 30 lbs underweight. Gibby had zero training, zero manners, and quite honestly zero chance of making it out alive. He was an 8 week old puppy in a year old dog’s body. A tiny puppy jumping up on people doesn’t take them clear to the ground and puppy mouthing someone in play doesn’t leave bruises and tooth marks. From a full grown large breed dog, it does. Gibby didn’t have a mean bone in his body. Scheduled for euthanasia the very next day, our director saw something in him. She saw the potential in him and took a chance. Gibby spent 10 weeks in an extensive board and train. He graduated a whole new dog! He no longer mouths in play and he no longer hits you like a football linebacker when he’s excited. He knows how to mind his manners, he knows basic commands, and he is relaxed, happy, and confident. Gibby cannot be placed in a home with cats or small animals. He loves to play with other large breed dogs. His one issue being worked on in regards to other dogs is that he resource guards high value items and food items. This is easily mitigated with feeding him in his crate and having him in his crate or in a down-stay away from the dinner table when humans are eating. He has never shown any resource guarding with people from even the highest value items. Gibby is housetrained on a schedule and crates well. He gets a bit nervous in the crate for longer periods of time so someone home more often than not or able to let him out midday to break up the workday would be ideal. He is getting more and more comfortable in there with continued training as well. He is so smart, so responsive, and absolutely one of the most fun dogs you’d ever want to meet. We are so glad our director took a risk on this guy…he was worth it 1000x over.

Description: Glenda is an older Shar Pei (mix?) who is petite, sweet, and adorable. She is great with dogs, didn’t even bother with the cats, and loves all people. She is a senior girl, about 8 years old, though in overall good health other than seemingly not having all (or any) hearing. Glenda is lazy, laid-back, and just wants a couch to snooze on and someone to take her walks. She jumps for joy when you take her leash or harness out so she would love a home who wants a pup to go on walks with. She walks well on the leash. Glenda is housetrained, crates well, and is beyond the crazy puppy stages of chewing things. She doesn't bark, she really doesn't make a peep, except for her cute snore in the middle of the night. She easily goes into her crate and will sleep the whole night. Her foster got her a bed, and you will never see a rescue dog as grateful as when Glenda got a bed. The only thing she's more excited for than her bed, is going for a walk. You'd never guess she was a senior when your bring the leash out! She wants a retirement home with places to snooze and people to walk her and love on her. She doesn't need much, but love and lots of pets. She's a shadow dog, that follows you around to make sure you're ok, and then leans into anyone she meets for some loving.

She is the typical husky escape artist so needs a home with a taller fence (she jumped out of her 5’ kennel run at the shelter) or a home committed to leash walks. Description: Lana is in the running for the cutest puppy we have ever seen! She is a little chunk who loves food, people, tossing toys around, food, other dogs, and did we mention food? Lana is everything a puppy should be…playful, snuggly, silly, and still learning everything about how the world works. She is expected to be a large dog as an adult. She is a typical puppy so a forever home should prepare for all the puppy fun, socialization, training, and everything takes to make a puppy into the best dog they can be. We highly recommend training classes to set everyone up for success. Housetraining and cratetraining have been started but expect to continue working on it. Puppies can hold their bladders on average for 1 hour more than their age in months (ex: 2 month old puppy should be able to hold it about 3 hours). Puppies play hard, sleep hard, and love hard. The puppy stage can be tough but so worth it!

He just melts into affection and will follow you to the end of the earth with positive reinforcement. He truly is a very good boy! He is young and playful and really doesn’t have a clue about his size. He is a friend to dogs big and small. Although he plays a little hard for most. He is working on how/when to play and learning boundaries and a bit of personal space because to him there’s no such thing. He has seen some hardships, some mistreatment and we don’t know why. He is the most agreeable guy and if he thinks he’s done something wrong he will go to his safe room and he is so apologetic about it. Usually all you need to do is raise your voice. Reliably house trained. Crate or gate compatible. Good on leash. Not a barker. Needs durable toys. Likes running zoomies, walks, balls, antlers, chew bones, toys, praise, pets and being told he’s a good boy.

Mako is a young German Shepherd, about 9 months old, who is a naughty puppy through and through. Ok, so that isn’t the most endearing way to describe him but we’re all about full transparency! He is however a future good boy once someone spends some time teaching him manners and spending some time with him. Previously an outdoor dog, everything is new to him and everything is exciting. People to spend time with, toys, toilets flushing, other dogs to play with, tile floors, office chairs he learned he couldn’t fit under…all weird but amazing. Mako has so much potential and needs home committed to bringing him to be his future good boy self. He promises so much love, so many laughs, and so much fun even if in the short term it comes with a side of “what the heck did I get myself into”.

Description: Mazzie is a spitfire of a husky with endless love for her people, a bit of a mischievous streak, and a bit of the classic husky sass! She is an awesome girl. She loves to snuggle, loves to hang out with her people, and is always up for meeting new people. She is housetrained on a schedule, crates for the workday but hates the crate and needs either a sturdy crate or a dog-proofed area to stay. She loves her walks and loves to toss toys around and chew on bones. Her mischievous streak you may ask? This girl is a counter surfer! She is so talented in it she has been known to take dishes out of the sink so delicately in fact that she doesn’t even break them. So she needs someone to keep working on this and keeping things put away so she doesn’t have the opportunity to be inadvertently rewarded for it. Mazzie is excellent with dogs, loves all people, but does like to chase cats too much for her to be safe placed with them. She is a husky and does like to sing the song of her people when she has something to say so needs a home without a shared walls. She would be best with a fenced yard or someone committed to leashed walks (not tie-out) due to her willingness to be a typical husky and go exploring on her own.

Mouse loves other dogs, especially those that will play with him, and really relies on having a confident dog around to follow to help show him new things are ok. Have you ever met a dog that asked to hold hands? Meet Panzu and now you have! When Panzu is nervous, he will gently hand you his paw until you hold onto it. It absolutely is one of the cutest things we have ever seen. Panzu is friendly with other dogs and loves all people. He is a medium energy boy, loves his walks and playtime, but also settles nicely in the house. He is housetrained and crates well (but needs a push to go in because of course he’d rather go with you!). A gentle and sensitive guy, lots of yelling or chaos makes him nervous especially if it’s angry yelling and he’ll cower and shake. Panzu just wants someone to hold his hand, take him for walks and play, and love him as much as he will love them in return. He will lean into his people for pets and give the most contented sigh knowing he is safe. Panzu is about 60 lbs, 2 years old.

She loves toys, loves to play, loves to chase a flirt pole around, and loves to go hiking and adventures. Pigtails was found as an unclaimed stray chasing kids at the fire station. She didn’t mean to scare them, she just wanted to herd them into a neat little group-aussie genetics at their finest! Pigtails would be best in a home with older kids and/or a home who understands herding breed tendencies with younger kids. She is excellent with other dogs and loves to play. If you are looking for a companion and playmate for your pooch, Pigtails would be perfect! We have not yet tested her with cats but suspect she’ll need a cat-free home. She is about 1 year old, 45 lbs. She needs a foster or foster-to-adopt home to commit to her before her time runs out. She will need to be brought to our vet in Eden Prairie for a spay once in foster or foster-to-adopt (cost covered by the rescue)

Rookie is a 8-9 month old, 30 lb Pocket Wiggle Loaf. You haven’t heard of that breed? They are very rare and definitely not one we just made up because we have no idea what Rookie is ;). He looks like a German Shepherd type mix but so much smaller for his age. In fact we thought he was a much younger puppy when he first came into the shelter. Rookie is shyer initially with new experiences but give him a few treats and he is all puppy and all about the snuggles, the fun, and finding the happiness in everything. That water bottle in the street that we see as litter…why that is his new chompy toss around toy! The barking dog bouncing off the walls in her run at the shelter that scares other dogs….his future best friend! Rookie is fabulous with dogs, loves people, and was curious about the cats but didn’t bother them. He needs a foster or foster-to-adopt home to commit to him before his time runs out. Description: Wanted Dog seeking Owner: You are an enthusiastic human type person. I like everyone young and old so don’t worry that I will judge. Must be willing to throw a ball or toy 3000 times a day! I am a very active and joyous 45 pound bundle of doggie happiness. I have no idea of my background or breeding so please don’t ask. Not even my ears know for sure as one stands up and the other flops down. I’ve been called a Northern Brown Wonky Ear, but I think my humans are messing with me. Whatever breeds I am, I feel that I got the best of all of them! I am playful, friendly to all, and best of all, have awesome zoomies! I would love a friendly doggie playmate, but I’m also fine with just my humans for company. Cats are interesting, but ultimately boring as they have no interest in fetching. I want nothing more than a ball to chase, butt scritches, and someone to play with. I will play by myself if you are busy but I am much happier if someone else throws my ball for me. I just can’t toss it that far! I will eventually give up asking you to throw the ball and settle in for a nap, but be warned that I take the 3000 times a day very seriously. I can also be quiet in my crate if you want a break or need to leave for a bit. I even sleep in it at night, but could be talked into sleep by your side. As long as I get plenty of exercise, I'd be fine in an apartment as I'm not a big talker. I walk okay on a leash, but could use a refresher course to not pull so much. I am just that enthusiastic! I can be off leash as long as you have a ball. I don’t want to miss out on a single opportunity to fetch. I will even run by your side for a goodish distance, as long as you have that ball! I am a 3 or 4 years old girl dog so I am past all the puppy nonsense, but still young enough to have energy in spades! I know to do my business outside and just need to learn your schedule so I can plan. For a playful dog she is a best friend since she can go on and on running and wrestling. Stuffy adores people and is tolerant of everything. She frequently gets picked up to get put in her kennel and doesn’t even mind “air jail”. Will she tell you her opinions of being locked up…absolutely. Stuffy is not for apartments or shared walls unless your neighbors too would like to hear her opinions shouted. Description: A pretty face and legs up to here, Tarot has all the makings of a model. He doesn't have a big head about it though! This humble guy came into a local impound after suffering a horrific injury at the hands of someone who had just purchased him in the days prior. He has spent the last few months healing and his wound is almost fully healed and he is nearly ready to find his forever home! He is an absolute love. He had endless patience with all the bandage changes, the cone wearing, and the vet visits. He didn't enjoy the short term restricted activity though! Thankfully it was only a week and he was cleared to be his playful self. This guy is the energy level you'd expect from his breeds and needs an active home who can tire him out mentally and physically. He is smart, he loves to work out puzzle and food toys, and is an excellent walking/jogging partner. He is quite the water dog as well! He is excellent with dogs and likes to play with them though equally loves his humans and would be happy in a home with or without another dog. He is housetrained and crates well but prefers to be in a dog-proofed area rather than a crate when alone. He is gated in the hallway with a bone and dog bed at his foster home and he does much better with that than in the crate
